So, we quietly registered Artbox LLC just over a month ago. Now, we’ve chosen “Artbox Modern” as the doing-business-as (DBA), assumed name. We think it’s crisp and clear, and associates our space with modern / contemporary art.

Some art historians may well take issue with our using the term “modern” interchangeably with “contemporary”. After all, many would agree that the modern art movement came to a screeching halt in 1960, and contemporary art opened its doors and continues to the present day. We do agree with the historians. That said, we needed a short and catchy name - and “Artbox Modern” fit the bill rather than the lengthier moniker “Artbox Contemporary”.

Now, having said all this, the name is still subject to change. We have yet to validate it out in the real world.

Earlier today we had a demo of movable wall systems from the regional sales manager of MBA. The company manufactures wall panels in different shapes, sizes and colors that can be easily fitted together without tools. The wonderful thing about this system is that we can put the panels together in almost any configuration, then break them down, move them, and re-configure at will!

This will give us the flexibility to change the layout and look of the store interior whenever we, or our customers, start craving something fresh.
